AUSTRALIAN PROPOSAL. CANBERRA, Dec. 4. The Commonwealth Air Communications Committee’s report contains a number of recommendations governing flying in Australia, plso the immediate calling of tenders for four mail services, firstly Darwin to Singapore; secondly, Darwin to Cootamundra, which is to be the distributing centre for mails for Sydney and Melbourne; thirdly, Catherine to Perth, via the North-west coast; fourthly, .Melbourne to Hobart. The committee states that the Australian service to Singapore would not involve so much expenditure as contributing to the Imperial air mail.

RECOMMENDATIONS ADOPTED. Received December 5, 10.50 a.m. CANBERRA, Dec. 5. Cabinet has decided to adopt the recommendations of the Air Service Committee that Australia should control the service from Darwin to Singapore. Cabinet has also adopted the report on the air mail services within Australia.
