CRICKETING MATERIAL.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —I ain in receipt of a letter from the Palmerston North men in the State Forest camp at Karioi, asking for spare cricketing material. They state it is the intention of the Unemployment Board to continue with the camps over the summer months, and the men in camp want to enter for the local cricket competition if they can secure the necessary cricketing material. The life of these men in tho camps is, to say the least of it, fairly monotonous, and good clean sport such as cricket is worthy of support; and with this object in view I should like to know if any citizens of clubs have surplus cricket material, such as bats, pads, or wickets, that they are prepared to donate. If so I would be pleased if they would communicate with me, and I will make arrangements to collect and forward to the camp.—Yours faithfully, A. E. MANSFORD, 'Mayor.
