LONDON NIGHT CLUBS
EXORBITANT CHARGES MADE. Night clubs are arising in the West End, similar to those which Lord Byng, former Commissioner of Police, suppressed, except that they are more discreet, says the Daily Mail. The dance floor usually is sufficient only for eight or more couples, and is so crowded that it is possible only to jog up and down to the music of an attentuated jazz band. The accommodation usually is limited to a garish room, dominated by a large bar. The proprietors expect raids, and consequently charge exorbitantly.
