THE WORLD’S LARGEST LlNEß.—Looking down on the new French super liner Normandie which was launched last month at St. Nazaire. The vessel has an overall length of 1029 feet and an approximate gross tonnage of 75,000. There will be eleven decks, five of which will run uninterruptedly from stem to stern, while turbo-electric propulsion will be used for the first time in France in a large liner. This is France's efforts to satisfactorily compete with her rivals on the New York runs.
