“CZAR OF OIL.”

PRESIDENT HOOVER’S FUTURE. Rumour credits President Hoover with an intention to become a Czar—a Czar of oil! The President, cheerful and unaffectedly serene, has plunged into work on the Budget and his message to Congress. He has been renewing contracts with business and industrial leaders in the West. This fact, combined with his known rostiveness for work, suggests the possibility that he may become active in one of the country’s biggest industries. More than one friend has hinted at tho possibility that he may undertake the enormous task of organising the conserving of the nation’s oil production, which has been tho victim of unwise competition and unregulated production. Tho post suggested is that of “Czar of the Oil Industry,” one for which Iris engineering knowledge and organising ability would, specially fit him.
