FLAXWORKER HURT.

Painful injuries were sustained by a flaxworker at the Poplar Mill, near Foxton, yesterday afternoon. It appears that Mr John Black, aged 29 years, was pushing a truck along the light railway and failed to notice the approach of another truck, which passed over his left foot, badly crushing it. He was removed to the Palmerston North Hospital. He was in a fairly serious condition this morning.

Mr W. J. Nicholls, of Colombo Street, who sustained a lacerated wound to a forearm when he fell from a building in Broadway. Ayenue yesterday, was reported to be in a satisfactory condition to-day. Mr P. Palenski, of Ashley Street, who was seriously hurt in a motor cycling mishap on October 2, is making slow progress. Mr E. Carpenter, who was injured on the same occasion, is making a good recovery.
