LONDON WOOL SALES. CONCLUSION OF SERIES. COMPARISON OF PRICES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received October 14, 12.40 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 13. At the wool sales 6278 bales were offered, including 1864 from New Zealand, and about 4647 were sold. It was a miscellaneous offering. There was a good general demand and v lato rates were maintained. New Zealand realisations: —Greasy Merino, Glynnwye, top price 9d ; average BJd; halfbred lambs slipe, top price lljd, average 9|d. Tho series closed firm. Prices compared with the July closing rates wero as follow:—Merinos, greasy, 10 per cent, higher; scoured, 6 to 10 per cent.; short pieces, 10 to 15 per cent.; crossbreds, fine, 5 per cent.; medium and coarse, 7i to 10 per cent.; slipes, 10 to 15 per cent. Tho total catalogued was 178,733 bales. Of these there were sold to the Home trade 71,000, to the Continent 82 000, and held over 54,000. The total Australian wool sold was 68,000 and of New- Zealand 65,500 bales.
