Tho motion for ratification of the agreement botween New Zealand and the United Kingdom will be debated on Tuesday next. _ The loss m Customs revenue from the removal of the surtax is estimated a.t £250,000, in additions to the tariff changes mentioned. The primage duty of 1 per cent and 2 per cent, on Australian good;; has been abolished to equalise the position resulting from the removal of the surtax.
