PICTURE HOUSES. The week-onc] clmngo of programme at the Regent Thentro to-morrow offers as its principal attraction “Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm,’’ with Marian Nixon in the leading role, and assisted by Ralph Bellamy, Mae Marsh and Louise Halo. Marian Nixon, whoso personality has carried her to new screen heights, was chosen to portray the character of “Rebecca” (whoso name camo out out of “Ivanhoe”) —a character that to millions is symbolic of optimism. Conceived originally as the heroine of a series of short stories by Kate Douglas Wiggin, “Rebecca” was later made into a stago play by the author in collaboration with Charlotte Thompson. William K. Howard, Fox director, assembled the largest cast brought together within tho enclosure of any motion picture studio for “The Trial of Vivienne Ware,” which comes to tho Palace Theatro to-morrow. Led by Joan Bennett, who portrays tho leading role, tho principals are Allan Dinohart, Donald Cook, Lilian Bond, Zasu Pitts, Skeet* Gallagher, Herbert Mundin, William Pawley, Howard Phillips, Ruth Selwyn, Noel Madison, Christian Rub, Maude Eburnc, Jameson Thomas and J. Maurice Sullivan. Buster Keaton, tho well-known comedian, will be seen at the Kosy Theatre to-morrow in ono of tho most hilarious comedies, “Speak Easily,” presented to a Palmerston North audience. Ho commences as a professor in a public school, and ends _ with hie name as the big lino on the bill in “Speak Easily,” a review which takes Broadway by storm. How he gets inveigled into the show, and turns what threatens to bo a dead failumo into a brilliant success, is something worth seeing. The supports include episode six of “Tho Air Mail Mystery.”
