WIDOWS’ PENSIONS.
SCALE IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Received October 13, 10.15 a.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 13. Widows’ pensions are to be reduced from £1 for a widow and 10s for a child to 17s 6d and 8s 9d respectively, bringing them into line with the Federal scale. An extension of the powers and an increase in tho personnel of the Public Service Board, an adjustment of the endowment payments and the above reductions in pensions are features of Bills which the Government lias introduced in the Assembly in connection with its budgetary proposals.
