GATHERING IN NEW SOUTH WALES. Received October 13, 8.35 a.m. SYDNEY. Oct. 13. At the National Rifle Association’s meeting the first stage of tho King’s Prize opened in favourable weather. The Prince of Wales match, seven shots at 300, 500 and 600 yards, was won by H. M. Nott (South Australia) after a shoot off with J. Perrin (Queensland). E. Ballinger was brilliant, registering 102 out of 105 and secured 13th place. Other New Zealanders’ scores were as follow: O’Donnell, 98: Cromio, 98; A. Ballinger, Rule and Carter, each 96; Nicholl, W. Ballinger and Chapman, each 95; Koppert, 91. The Holmes shoot, with a possible of 40, resulted: Chapman, 37; Cromie, 35; Nicholl, 34.
