WORK RESUMED.
AFTER SIX WEEKS OF IDLENESS. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Sept. 29. After nearly six weeks of idleness operations were resumed to-day at the Birchwood mine, Ohai, under the conditions of the old agreement, with the exception of a slight reduction in wages of 2d per ton. The hire and fire clause previously sought by the owners was deleted. The agreement operates till December 31, 1933.
