BULLS.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) BULLS, Sept. 26. The final of tho men’s championship was played during the week-end in cold, windy weather, and after a fine contost J. S. Trickcr proved tho winner, defeating T. L. Mansell, 4 up and 2 to play. The committee of tho Bulls Tennis Club met last week and various matters of interest to members were discussed. A motion was carried that tho final for the Newman Cup bo played as soon as possible, on a day to suit tho finalists. The question of entering teams for the Manawatu Lawn Tennis Association competition will be discussed at the annual meeting. Mr W. H. Olson’s resignation was accepted with regret, and a letter to that effect is to be sent to him. Several other resignations wero accepted with regret. Accounts totalling £2l 5s 8d wero passed for payment. It is proposed to hold the annual meeting on October 6 or 7, whichever date proves most suitable. It was decided to suggest to tho annual meeting that tho courts be opened for tho season on October 12. It was decided, also, to have the lines of tho courts touched-up. The secretary gave an outline of tho annual report and balance-sheet, which wero fully discussed, and it was agreed that greater economy would have to be exorcised in future in view of tho decided shrinkage in the club’s revenue. • BULLS, Sept. 27. Tho flag match played by the Ladies’ Golf Club last week resulted in Mrs McKonzio carrying the flag to the 19th green. Mrs Do Burgh, Miss Fagan and Miss D. Perrett all went to the 19th fairway. The ladies’ closing day will bo on Thursday. In the morning a medal round over 18 holes will bo played, and Canadian foursomes in the afternoon. Play may be commenced at any timo after 9.30 a.m. Trophies will bo presented after tho afternoon tea. The draw for the medal round is as follows: —Mrs Goodall v. Mrs Prichard, Miss Fagan v.
