CUSTOMS FIGURES INCREASE.

The British Exchequer returns continue to show an increase in revenue and a decreaso in expenditure in comparison with last year. The national revenue for the week ended September 10 totalled £8,399,501, exceeding the expenditure by £300,546. The figures from April 1 to September 10 show that the Customs receipts, £73,127,000, represented an increase of £15,536,000 on last year. For the same period the excess of ordinary expenditure over revenue was reduced from £91,928,595 to £83,-133,-251. The sum of £28,139,920 was expended on repaying the credit of £20,000,000 obtained from Franco in September, 1931.
