WOMEN’S DIVISION, FARMERS’ UNION.

FEILDING BRANCH. In aid of its funds, tire Redding branch of the Women’s Division, Farmers’ Union, held a successful party on Friday afternoon, when there was a large attendance of town and country members. The chief attractions were bridge and euchre. The bright and sunny lounge of the club rooms looked very inviting, its decoration having been most artistically carried out by Mrs M. D. Colquhoun with tall brown jars of japonica and blush pink camellias. Gay little covers of blue and green graced the numerous tables and in the open fireplace a log fire blazed merrily. Mrs W. Booth was in charge of a sumptuous afternoon tea that had been provided by the hostess, Mrs J. Williamson, of Taonui (club secretary), with the help of the committee. Mrs H. Barnicoat, of Kimbolton, and Miss Brooker, were the winners at bridge and Mrs Dewar and Mrs M. Durio the euchre winners. Mrs C. G. C. Dernier (president) who had been invited to present the prizes, moved a vote of thanks to Mrs Williamson for a delightful afternoon. Airs Dernier mentioned that the annual function of the Farmers' Union in connection with the root crop competition would take placo at Cheltenham and that members of the W.D.F.U. had been asked if they would kindly contribute the supper.
