Mrs O. A. Price, of Racecourse Road, Waipukurau, accompanied by her two small sons, is the guest of Mrs Lockett, Shannon. A cablegram from Montreal states that Dr. Craig, New Zealand Comptroller of Customs, with his wife and daughter, sailed on Saturday by the Canadian Challenger for home. Miss Edio Green, wdio has been nursing in Sydney for the past 15 months, returned by the Maunganui last week on a short visit to her parents, Mr and Mrs E. C. Green, Ruahine Street. Mrs F. Horneman and her daughter, Miss May Horneman, of Hawke’s Bay, are the guests of Mr E. Goodbeliere and Miss Patricia Goodbehere, Feilding. Mrs Grubb, of Wellington, accompanied by her little daughter, is staying with her parents, Mr and Mrs John Gould, Feilding.

Miss Gallus, of Kimbolton, is the guest of Mrs Doreen, Argyle Avenue, Palmerston North.

Mrs L. C. Redmond, of Hamilton, is spending a fortnight with her sister, Mrs M. C. Ancell, Feilding.

The many friends of Mrs T. H. Beals will regret to learn that she is still an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital.

Born at Tamaki on August 27, 1843, Mrs Martha Carter, of 34 Ireland Street, Ponsonby, Auckland, is believed to be the oldest living person born in the neighbourhood of Auckland. She carries her years lightly. She had scarcely known illness through all her long life until a few weeks ago, but sho has made a rapid recovery and expects to follow her accustomed activities again shortly.

On the morning of July 19 (says a London correspondent) the wedding took place at Holy Trinity Church, Brook Green, of Mr John Bernard Wakefield Redwood, eldest son of Mr and Mrs Vernon C. Redwood, and grand-nephew of His Graco Archbishop Redwood, and Mra Rose Gertrude McConnell, widowed daughter of the late Mr Cecil Jones, of Burma, and of Mrs Jones, Greencroft Gai'dens, Hampstead. Tlio bride and bridegroom left for Now Zealand early in August, travelling via Canada. Their future home is to be in Auckland. The death occurred last week after a short illness of Mrs Amelia Harrowed, of Clarence Street, Hamilton, at the age of 78 years. Mrs Harrowed who was born in Cheshire, England, arrived in New Zealand 43 years ago. For many years she resided in Manurewa and Auckland, and since 1922 had lived in Hamilton. She is survived by a family of three daughters, Mesdames W. T. Firth and Mitchell, of Palmerston North, and Miss M. Harrowed, of Sydney, and two sons, Messrs It. H. Harrowed, of Sydney, and S. Harrowed, of Auckland. Mrs Harrowell’s husband died 12 years ago.
