During the past few days Cabinet has been giving i-fose attention to the final report of the National Expenditure Commission, especially in referenoe to possible savings in the Estimates. Cabinet sat late Fast night and again this morning. When seen later Mr Forbes said they had been engaged in reviving the Estimates in the light' of the Commission’s report and the task had a very arduous one. He said the report would not be published till the first week in the session.
