TRIBUTES TO MR H. G. WATKINS

LONDON

Aug. 25.

The newspapers editorially pay tributes to Mr H. G. Watkins, the Arctic explorer, who lost his life in an accident near Angmagsalik, Greenland. Tho Times says: “Mr Watkins was in tho front ra.nk of Arctic explorers. His country and family have lost one who, if spared, must have become famous for still greater achievements.” MESSAGE OF SYMPATHY. (British Official Wireless.) Received August 26, 11.20 a.m. RUGBY, Aug. 25. Colonel 11. S. Watkins has received the following message from Lord Londonderry, Secretary for Air: “On behalf of the Air Council, I offer the deepest sympathy on the death of your son as the result of the Greenland accident. I greatly deplore his loss.”
