During the week ended August 20 donations wore received as follow at the Central Relief Depot in Church Street: —Mr Clark (Boundary Road), cabbage, cauliflower and lettuce plants; Mrs Lauridsen (Milson), sack of carrots and parsnips; Miss Rogerson (Longburn), sack of cabbages; Mr Owtrani (College Street), 7()lb ot apples; Miss Crawford (Morris Street), groceries and cooking sundries; Boniface Bros., 12 dozen cakes, buns, etc.; Mr Poisson. 20 heads of celery; Kiwi Bacon Co., 40 pigs’ beads; Tiki Bacon Co.. 30 lb of bacon bones; Kairanga. Meat Co., 2001 b of beef; anonymous (per Watson Bros.), £3 worth of groceries.
The total quantities of groceries received under the housewives’ weekly parcel scheme were 20ll> of bread, 321 b of butter. 031 b of flour, Or'Hi of sugar and 2211 b of nee, in addition to jam, lionev, oatmeal, dripping, tea. etc. The lioii. treasurer acknowledges receipt, per Rev. J. B. AlcArthur, of £5 from “A Sympathiser.
