NORTH ISLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
The North Island Badminton Championships were finished in Wa.nganui on Monday night. The Gonville club, established" last season, secured ten ot the sixteen trophies competed for at the tournament, 'flic A angaiiui club won three, and the remaining three were won by visitors. In the final of the men’s championship doubles, HayCampbell and Meuli (Wanganui) were overwhelmed bv LatJia.m and Russell (Gonville). The winning pair concentrated on Meuli. and Russell s angle drop Shots scored many a point. I lie result was a win tor the Gonville pair, °Tlie semi-final of the men’s handicap doubles was played between the same pair, resulting. in Russell nml Latham ( —o) again heating HayCampbell and Alouli ( o), 21 lb. The final resulted in Latham and Bussell ( —5) heating Rev. Austin and Woollams ( —2). 21—2. Holrov<l and Miss Greaves (Gonville) easily accounted for Urty and Aliss Bassett-Smitli in th« B grade mixed doubles, and won 13—2, lo—3.
