RONGOTEA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTFA, Aug. 23.
The regular monthly meeting of the Rongotea Town Board was hold last evening. Present: Messrs L. H. Yarrall (chairman), E. J. Arnott, S. Tenz, T. Eraser and C. P. Wood (clerk). The resolutions to strike a general rate and a sanitary rate were passed, there being no alteration from previous years. It was decided to reduce the rent of tile hall until October. Accounts totalling £49 were passed for payment.
A start has been made with tho erection of a residence for the manager ot tho local branch of tho Bank of Now Zealand. The building will bo in Georgian style and consist of seven rooms, with the necessary outbuildings. The most modern equipment and conveniences are to bo included. Set well hack, and surrounded by spacious grounds, it will bo a welcome addition to the many fine homes of the district.
Mrs 11. V. Oaverhill and his daughter Joyce, have gone on a visit to Retone.
