NELSON BOARD’S REQUEST,

Discussing a request from tho Nelson Education Board for support lor their contention that in some cases children under six years of age should be admitted to schools. Mr E. F. Hemingway, at the meeting of tho "Wanganui Education Board yesterday commented that if those children were admitted, the board would be in the position of having no provision made in the matter of staffing. The opinion of Mr M. H. Oram was that tho board should support tho spirit of the Act, and not support the -Voknn Education Board in their endeavour to have children admitted under six years, even though they " ;„hfc attain the required age during term. The hoard decided unanimously to abide by the spirit of the Act. __
