BUNNYTHORPE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, May 18. On Monday morning quite a stir took place in a Bunnythorpe store when a draught horso being driven through tho township walked into the .shop and gave tho occupant, Miss Schoidt, some excitoment. It quietly took a general view of tho shop, when Mr D. Smith arrived and romoved it beforo any damage was done. At midday on Monday, a largo sodan motor car, driven by a Marton resident, with a lady passenger, came to grief on the filling at the railway crossing and shot over tho bank. It fell_ 911 its sido against tho fenco of tho adjoining section. Luckily, tho car was not travelling fast and no ono was injured. The car .was not badly damaged. On Tuesday evening a special meeting of the Dofenco Rifle Club took place at tho miniature riflo room, there boing a fair attendance which was presided over by Mr W. B. Duthio. Correspondence was read from tho Defonco Department regarding tho range and tho present holding of tho challenge cup. After duo consideration it was decided to disband tho club and dispose of its assets. Tho challenge cup was donated tp tho Miniature Rifle Club and the amount in the bank, about £lB 10s, it was decided to equally divide botween tho public library, the school library, tho Methodist Sunday School and tho Anglican Sunday School. The secretary was instructed to convey to Mr R. Currio a lettor of appreciation for the many years he had allowed the club to carry out shoots on his farm. It was also decided to accord thanks to Mr F. Cox, secretary and treasurer, for his many years ol service to the club.
