RONGOTEA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, April 21. Tho annual meeting of tho parishioners of tho Anglican Church, Rongotea, was well attended on Wednesday evening. Rev. Mr Whito opened tho meeting with a prayer, after which Mr W. V. Schaw, secretary of tho vestry, read tho minutes of the previous annual meeting, which wero confirmed. Mr Whito then reported that tho year’s working had been very successful, good congregations being present at all tho services. Ho especially thanked his church wardens, in Bulls and Rongotea, Mr Francis. (Sanson) lay reader, who conducted services at Rongotea, Sanson and Buffs; and all Sunday school teachers, organists and committees, who had worked for the church. Tho financial position, ho said, was about tho same as last year. It was not worse, there being a good credit balanco on tho working, but tho special account was in about to same condition as last year. As tho Bulls and Rongotea parishes had amalgamated, each parish had to elect its sub-vestry of up to 13 members, and from theso they could appoint delegates to attend tho central vestry meetings to bo held in Bulls and. Rongotca respectively. Tho sub-committco for Rongotea was Messrs T. Patton, W. Amey, P. Bottchor, W. Schaw, W. Scott, F. Burgess, R. Boswell and R. Wright. Tho central, vestry was then appointed in tho proportion of Glen Oroua (1). Sanson (1), Carnarvon (1), Grcatford (1), Bulls (4), and Rongotea (4). Officors elected wero as follow: Synodsman, Colonel C. G. Powles; combined vestry secretary, Mr Kemp; church wardens, Mr Wilson (Bulls), Mr Schaw (Rongotea); people’s warden-, Mr F. Wright. A strong ladies’ committeo was then appointed to handle matters such as bazaars, etc. Tho meeting closed with tho Benediction, after which supper was served by tho ladies, and Mr and Mrs ICondall sang a duet.
