DOMINION’S RAILWAYS.
IMPROVEMENT IN FINANCE. Per Press Association. 4 WELLINGTON, April 20. An improvement of £149,000 in the net railway revenue for the year ended March 31 last, as compared with tlie previous financial year, was announced to-day by the general manager of railways, Mr P. G. Roussell. The net revenue for the closing four weeks of the year was £35,000 above the figure for the corresponding period ending March 31 last year, Mr Roussell stated that the preliminary statistics actually showed a net revenue of £838,000 for the last 12 months, as compared with £689,000 for the year ended March 31, 1931. The total revenue for the year had aetuallv decreased by £1,063,000, Mr Roussell said. This was more than offset by reductions in expenditure totalling £1,212,000.
