DANUBIAN PROBLEM.
POWERS TO CONFER
DELEGATES IN LONDON
(British Official Wireless.) Received April 7, 8.5 a.m. RUGBi', April 5.
The Prime Minister, Mr Ramsay MacDonald, will preside over the Four-Power Conference (Britain, France, Germany and Italy), which will open at the Foreign Office to-mor-row to consider the situation in the Danubian countries. The British Government will also be represented by the Chancellor of tire Exchequer, Mr Neville Chamberlain, tho Foreign Secretary, Sir John Simon, and the President of tho Board of Trade, Mr W. Itunciman.
All these Ministers took part in yesterday’s Anglo-French conversations, which may prove to have helped to clear the way to a speedy agreement among the four Powers. Although those preliminary conversations were regarded by the participants as helpful, no decisions were taken and both the I*rench and British delegates although now helpfully familiar with one another’s views, can enter to-mor-row’s conference with perfect liberty to change those views after hearing the opinions put forward by the Gorman and Italian representatives. M. Elandin, tho French Finance Minister, has remained in London as tho chief French delegate. The Italian Foreign Minister, Signor Grandi, will arrive in London to-night with the Italian delegation, and Herr von Billow, head of the German Foreign Office, will reach London to-mor-row from Berlin.
It is expected that the conference will last two or three days.
