ANNUAL CHURCH MEETING.
The ninth annual meeting of the United Evangelical Church was held in the new church building on Wednesday, Alarch 30. In giving Iris report, the secretary, Air T. C. Bycroft, stated that God had dealt very graciously. with the church through changing vicissitudes until now the year’s work had been crowned with a very fine building in which to carry forward the work; also a manse adjoining the property, the whole of the work having been carried out by voluntary labour, excepting that of electric light fittings, and plumbing, and doors were purchased. The report intimated that the officers wished to place on record their sincerest thanks for tire wonderful way their people, together with a number from outside the assembly, came forward and carried out the work. This included ladies who supplied tea and cakes from time to time to those employed' on the building. Special mention was made of two worshippers who supplied regularly morning and afternoon cakes for refreshment. Thanks wero expressed for the Pastor, Air AVeslev E. Richards, who had laboured so faithfullv during the year; for the fearless and helpful messages delivered week by week, also for bis visits, public and private. Other reports were read and received with much pleasure including that of, the Sunday school superintendent, the secretary of the AVomen’s Missionary Prayer Circle, the secretary of tho choir, whose report wns read concerning the work at the Old People’s Home. These reports were of a very encouraging nature.
