(From Our Own Correspondent.) TAIKOREA, March 21.

Tho Oroua Downs cricket team visited Taikorca recently to play an informal match. Play was held on Mr Burmoistcr’s ground, nnd thero was quite a numbor of onlookers, besides plnyurs. Tho visittors were tho winners by live runs and two wickets, tho last moil not going in as tho second innings took longer, than expected, and as tho {armors wero thinking of tho cows and milking time. During tho afternoon, ton, which was providod by tho Taikorci team, was sorved by a number of ladies, and was greatly enjoyed by all. At tho conclusion of tho game, tho Oroua Downs captain thanked thoso presontr (or a vory delightful afternoon,, and said ho hoped that' at some future date tho Oroua Downs club would return tho compliment, and that when this occurred tho Taikoroa visitors would enjoy themselves. Ho called upon tho Oroua Downs team to give throo cheers for Taikoroa. Ward, tho Taikoroa captain, suitably responded, mentioning that Taikoroa cricket was as yet in its infancy, hut that by next season they hoped to have an eleven worthy of tho visitors’ mettle. With the cheering of tho Oroua Downs eleven, tho gathering broko up. A further cricket match was played on Saturday, when tho local married men challenged tho single men.
