BUDGET DEFICIT.
PROBABLY THREE MILLIONS. WELLINGTON, Feb. 23. An early statement of tb® position of the country's finances is likely to be made by .the Minister of Finance, Hon. W. Downie Stewart, and-this, it is gathered, .will contain the announcement that the financial year will close in five weeks' time with a deficit' of £3,000,000, and that indications are that the prospective short-, age of revenue for the financial year 1932-33 will be betweein £11,000,000 and £12,000,000.
