A concrete link with the very beginnings of Methodism in England has come into the possession of the New Zealand Methodist Church in toe shape of a pair of old-fashioned brass candlesticks used by John Wesley in his room at City Road Church, London. . At this morning s session of the Methodist Conference it was announced that the president, Rev. M. A. Rugby Prat#, had received the relics from the trustees of the estate of the late Miss Elizabeth Kitchingman, of Christchurch. . , , , The candlesticks will be handed to the church museum authorities. In a covering letter the trustees state that the relics came into .he possession of the great-grandfather of Miss. Kitchingman, then to Jabez K. Kitchingman, late of Christchurch, and later to Miss Kitchingman, ins daughter.
