PRISONERS ESCAPE.
Per Press Association. TOKAANU, Feb. 22. Two prisoners escaped from the Hautu Prison Farm in the early hours of Sunday morning, Roy Norris, aged 29, a thick-set man of sft. Bin., and Charles Bennett, aged 27, and sft. 9in. in height. A warder’s clothing—grey plus fours with a grey felt hat and a short khaki raincoat —was taken. , The escapees stole a blue sedan car belonging to a visiting angler, and the car has been traced as far as the Guthrie Settlement, near Rotorua.
