With the beach in the present condition it is not likely that Mr Norman “Wizard” Smith will attempt to break the record before Wednesday. The recent rains and an easterly wind have made the beach soft and according to Mr Smith, the Enterprise would “sink out of sight” if he took her out. She is ready, however. MALCOLM CAMPBELL AT DAYTONA. VANCOUVER, Feb. 21. A message from Daytona Beach says that Sir Malcolm Campbell made two practice runs on Saturday and then decided to wait for better beach conditions. He made 125.87 miles an hour on the southward run ,and 137.93 miles an hour on the return run.
