CARNARVON SCHOOL PICNIC.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) RONGOTEA, Feb. 19. The Carnarvon School picnic was held at Tangimoana a few days ago. The enthusiastic and capable committee had arranged a programme of sports, games, swimming, etc., for the children and older folk as well and all entered heartily into the spirit of the various events and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Fruit in abundance was provided by the committee, ice cream by Mr C. Ciochetto and sweets by Mr J. Aird. These gontlomen received a vote of thanks from all present for their kindness. Among many events the following were of much interest: —Married ladies’ race: Mrs J. Dixon 1, Mrs Fieldhouse 2. Married men’s race: Mr W. Giles 1, Mr J. Dixon 2. Single ladies’ race: Miss I. Rose 1, Miss P. Frecklingbon 2. Single men’s race: Mr E. Ingram 1, Mr R. Ingram 2.
