GENERAL FORECAST. The northern cyclone has become deep and is centred just east of Norfolk Island. South-east to north-eaßt winds; moderate but freshening. Seas rather rough north of East Cape; elsewhere smooth to moderate in New Zealand waters. South-east to north-erly-winds in the eastern Tasman Sea; strong, in ' the northern portion; elsewhere light to moderate.; seas rough in the fat north; elsewhere moderate. Weather still cloudy and sultry with mist or fog in places; some rain in most districts and some heavy falls in the far north. . • . . . DISTRICT REPORT.
The Government meteorologist wired to-day: —The indications are for easterly winds moderate to strong. Expect dull weather with much mist and fog in parts. Heavy rain is to be expected. The barometer has a falling tendency.
