CRICKET FOR GIRLS.

BIG MATCH TO BE CLAYED. Received February 18, 12.55 p.m. LONDON, Feb. 17. For the first time in history women cricketers will invade a county cricket ground when a match will be plaved at Edgbaston, Bermingham on June 15. Norman Kilner and Len Bates have been running a winter school of cricket for girls and results have so impressed the authorities that the girls have been offered a fixture on the county ground. One of the teams is likely to be captained by Connie Edge, who has scored many centuries and is a demon bowler with a “hat trick” to her credit. Mr R. V. Ryder, Warwickshire’s secretary, says cricket for girls in the Midlands is a serious rival to tennis.
