WALES OUTPLAYED. SPRINGBOKS’ VICTORY. Received December 7, 8.5 a.m. LONDON, Dec. 6. . Playing at Swansea before 40,000 spectators, the South African Rugby team beat Wales by eight points to three. The game was played in a downpour—it lasted throughout the match—which turned the ground into a mud-lieap. J. A. Bassett and L. C. Alorley, who participated in the Rugby tour of Australia and New Zealand in 1930, were included in the Welsh team which, despite the rain and mud, was outplayed by the Springboks, Wales led at half-time by three points to nil, after which the Africans beat the Welshmen at their own spoiling tactics.
