TARANAKI VERSUS WANGANUI

Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Dec. 4. The Hawke Cup elimination match between Taranaki and Wanganui reached an interesting stage to-day. Taranaki resumed their first innings, making 269, against Wanganui’s first innings of 266, Betts (115), Groombridge (29) and Papps (27) doing the best. • Wanganui replied with 224 'n their second innings, Wood (72), Williams (68) and Grant (26) being best. Taranaki opened their second innings ten minutes before stumps were drawn, losing one wicket without a run being scored.
