LONDON, Dec. 2

Musical critics lrave given appreciative notices to Arthur Benjamin’s one-act opera, “Devil Take Her,” the libretto for which was written by the late Alan Collard, a New Zealander. Sir Thomas Beecham paid the composer the compliment of conducting the first performance at the Royal College of Music, where it had an enthusiastic reception.

The late Mr Collard was for some years on the literary staff of the Christchurch Suu.
