MANAWATU-OROUA RIVER BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Mana-watu-Oroua Liver Board was held today, Mr W. S. Carter presiding. Also present were Messrs Gower, Barber, Hume, Buchanan, Law and Harrison. Mr W. Lowlands forwarded.an apology tor absence.

Mr Law, who had been appointed to go into the matter of establishing a camp for unemployed single men in the No. 1 separate area, reported that there was no information to submit. Concerning flood warnings for the Manawatu River at the Ngawaparua bridge, the Chief Postmaster at Palmerston North wrote stating that assistance would be rendered in passing on the warnings.—Received. It was decided that members of the board be furnished with lists of outstanding ratepayers in an endeavour to secure the amount and reduce irritation by legal communications to a minimum. Accounts amounting to £3O were passed for payment. The chairman wished members the compliments of the season and thanked them for the support given him in carrying out the work of the board.
