N.S.W. SAYINGS BANK.

MERGER DECISION. Received December 2, 8.5 a.m. SYDNEY, Dec. 2. The Lang Government has adopted the agreement for the amalgamation of the New South Wales Savings Bank with the Commonwealth Bank. Legislation ratifying the decision will be introduced to-day. Mr J. T. Lang stated that the alterations in the merger agreement suggested by the State Cabinet had been accepted by the Commonwealth Bank Board. A copy. of the agreement would be made available at the earliest possible moment.

It is expected that the Act will be proclaimed on December 14.
