quarterly session opens.

LIGHT CRIMINAL LIST. The quarterly session of the Supreme Court was opened this morning, His Honour Mr Justice Blair being on the Bench. . . There are only two criminal cases for trial and a short list of civil cases. The following Grand Jury was empanelled:—Messrs R. H. Spencer (foreman), J. Coombe, P. Mildon, R. T Jaggard, A. R. Buchanan, W. B. Cameron, A. J. Berryman, W. C. Birch R. C. Donald, IV. J. Edwards, D. A. Fraser, J. Harrison, T. I’. Hart. W H. Knight, Jas. Wallace, M. G. Watchorn, J. Blackwood and H. W. Bovis. In his address to the Grand Jury, His Honour said he did not think the business to be presented to them would take very long. The first case was that of a young woman who was charged with' arson; the other was quite a simple case alleging the making of a false document and alleged theft by failing to account for a sum on terms requiring accused to account for same. He did not think they would have great difficulty in arriving at their conclusions. True bills were returned in the following cases : —Myrtle Daphne Ada Jones, alleged arson; Albert George Purdie, al'eged forgery and alleged failure to account.
