ENTRIES NEARLY' 3000. INCREASE IN STOCK. Entries for the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association’s Spring Show, which opens next week, total nearly 3000. There has been a slight decrease in most sections excepting for the stock classes, in which entries have advanced by 100. Pigs, with a total of 187 entries, exceeded only on the occasion of the last Royal Show, make a very large section. There has also been an increase in the sheep classes. The most gratifying feature has been an increase of 100 in the entries for the ring competitions, despite the fact that two classes have been eliminated this year. . Thirty entries have l>een received for the steer-riding and there are enough nominations for the goat racing to ensure the running of two heats and a final. POVERTY BAY T SHOW. RECORD ENTRIES. Per Press Association. GISBORNE. Oct. 27. There is glorious weather for the first day of the Poverty Bay Show. The entries exceed those of last year’s record jubilee exhibition. The quality of the stock shows an improvement. There are exceptionally large entries in the horse sections.
