BOATSWAIN’S INJURIES.
SHIP WITHOUT DOCTOR. Received August 18, 9.0 a.m. MELBOURNE, Aug. 18. F. Ray, the bo’sun of the Waikawa, suffered agony for five days after he was injured during the voyage from New Zealand. The vessel, which arrived here three days overdue, was without a doctor.
Ray’s shoulder and leg were badly crushed when a roll of newsprint fell on him. He was taken to hospital immediately the ship berthed.
