NUMBER OF ASPIRANTS. MISS COPPLESTONE STILL INTENT “A GAME OF PATIENCE.” (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) Received August 15, 9.0 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 14. Miss Lily Copplestone, the New Zealand swimmer, has sent a letter to the Australian Press Association from Grisnez to the effect that she lias not abandoned her attempt to swim the Channel, but thatT Channel swimming seems to be a game of patience. “I liavo waited for suitable weather since the end of July, and I may have to wait for ages yet,” she adds. Airs Coleman, a London woman, will be the first of a dozen aspirants to start, and Miss Copplestone will be next.
