LIGHTNING KILLS CRICKETER.
William Francis Turner, aged 19, was killed by lightning when playing cricket at Freckenliam, Suffolk, for the village club against Exning recently. An inquest was held two hours later and a verdict of “killed by lightning” was returned. One of the players said Mr Turner was fielding at mi chuff. There was a terrific clap of thunder, and lie saw no flash of lightning. Mr Turner fell, and when he reached him he was dead. A doctor said Mr Turner’s cap was split at the back and badly burned. The hair on the left side of the back of the head was scorched.
