ROAD CYCLE RACING
AMATEUR CLUB. The Bth road race for the Hendie cycle and Boucher trophy took place yesterday under ideal weather conditions. Seven riders competed and a very close finish resulted. Jones off 11 minutes had a lone ride and was caught by Jensen and Tantrum nearing home, but Hayes with his usual brilliance managed to snatch the race from Jensen at the last movent. Jensen’s chances were somewhat spoilt by a fall at the turn at Awahuri in which McKenzie also figured. The following are the results: —D. Hayes, 1 and fastest time, 40mins. 39secs.; L. Jensen, 2; I. Jones, 3. Points for the trophies now stand: Hayes, 24; Tantrum, 15; L. Jensen, 12i ; J. Casey, 6; I. Jones, 5; J. Stancombe, 5; E. Bloomfield, 5. CASH CYCLING CLTJB. Another of the road races of thb Boucher Cup series will be contested by members of the Counties Cash Cycling Club cn Saturday when competitors will be required to negotiate the same severe route as at last weekend. The following handicaps have been issued by Mr G. Mayo: J. Christensen, A. Ganderton, 53mins.; A. J. Jeffries, L. Rosanoski, Bmins.; W. Collins, lmin.
