MEN CHARGED AT CHRISTCHURCH. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 3. The police version of Saturday's diserderiv street scenes was given before Mr Mosley, S.M., in the Court to-day, when John. Stephen McKegney, aged 28, Henrv Drayton Davis Dodge, aged 22, Charles Francis Riley, aged 3 i, and George Christopher Hams, aged 31, ail described as labourers, appeared on various charges, including the inciting ot lawlessness against McKegney and Dodge. Accused were remanded until tomorrow. The police said that the ooject or the demonstration was not merely anti-war, but to advocate the claims of Russia ■against the claims of Britain.
