ENGLAND AND FRANCE COMPETE Received August 3, 8.5 a.m. PARIS, Aug. .2. England defeated France at athletics by 67 points to 53. Finlay won the 110 yards hurdles event, beating Lord Burghley by a yard. France was successful in most of the field events.
