RUGBY FOOTBALL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) OROUA DOWNS. July 20. X On Saturday afternoon the final for the McKelvie Shield and Fagan Cup in the Te Kawau Sub-Union took place at Oroua Downs, when, after a hard fought game against Rongotea, no decision was arrived at ae the game ended in a pointless draw. The outcome of the match means a replay later on when a number of players in both teams will no doubt be unable to get away. From a scrum in the yellow twenty-five Lapwith cut through to hand on to \Y. Scott who was tackled in a good position. Rongotea pressed hard in the final spel and were unlucky in not scoring as they I had the yellows in one corner for about ; ten minutes, a free kick relieving the pres- j sure. Just before time Grooms raced ; through and sent Lindsay Moffatt away, j but he was recalled for off-side when he j had practically a clear field in front. The j yellows kept up the pressure and the final j whistle sounded with play in black territory. Mr S. Reeves - carried the whistle, j
