UMUTOI.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) UMUTOr, July 20. The first of a series of dances which are to be held in aid of the tennis court fund eventuated in the local schoolroom on Friday evening last. There was quite a large attendance and it was a light-hearted throng who danced until the early hours. A piano was very kindly loaned by Mr and Mrs M. G. Arnadio and enabled the company to indulge in community singing, .a proceeding which proved immensely popular. The competitions were also well received, the winners being Mrs Sixtus and Mr E. M. Signal. Music for the dancing was supplied by Mrs M. G. Arnadio, Miss J. Mackenzie, Miss M. Signal and Mr E. Buckman (piano) and Mr E. Signal (accordion). Supper wa3 supplied by the ladies and Mr J. Burton carried out tho duties of M.C.
